A metal-oxide varistor (MOV), also known as a voltage-dependent resistor (VDR), is an electronic component designed to protect circuits from excessive transient voltages.
Applications:
- Varistors are used as control or compensation elements in circuits to provide optimal operating conditions or protect against excessive transient voltages.
